Graduation (Provincial) Exam required for students in 2004 Graduation Program. Exam is worth 20% of final grade.

Social Studies 11, a provincially examinable survey course, addresses three themes which include a major focus on 20th century Canadian History and Human Geography, with a lesser emphasis on Civics (Canadian Politics and Government). Students will have an opportunity to assess the impact of key historical events that have shaped Canada’s identity and develop an understanding of contemporary global issues that “developed” and “developing” nations alike are increasingly forced to recognize. Finally, the Civics portion of the course places an emphasis on Canada’s government and political structures, and considers ways to become an active citizen in a participatory democracy.
Social Studies 11 is structured around 4 modules:
Module 1: Politics and Government

Module 4: Human Geography
